In an effort to provide transparency and insight into the fluctuating prices of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) across various Nigerian states, we present a comprehensive LPG price report for October 2023. The data outlines the prices for LPG in various cities across the country for both the 12.5kg cylinder and per kilogram, along with a comparative evaluation with the preceding month of September. Our survey gathered responses from a total of 21 participants, with the majority of responses originating from Facebook.


This pricing breakdown offers critical insights into the evolving LPG market in Nigeria, providing a clear picture of the variations in pricing across the country. Such information is invaluable for consumers, businesses, and government agencies, enabling them to make informed decisions and formulate policies in response to these dynamic market conditions.

We trust that this comprehensive overview serves as a valuable resource for all stakeholders within the LPG industry and beyond.

3. Ibadan:

LPG Price per KG: ₦950 (in one area) and ₦1,000 (in another area)

12.5 KG Cylinder: ₦11,875 (in one area) and ₦12,500 (in another area).


These states and cities offer the lowest LPG prices in the survey, providing affordable access to clean and efficient energy for households and businesses. The cost savings can significantly benefit consumers and reduce the economic burden associated with energy expenses.

Policymakers, industry stakeholders, and government bodies should take note of these regions with intermediate and lower LPG prices. They can use this information to develop strategies for promoting more affordable and accessible LPG in areas with higher prices, thus ensuring that clean and efficient energy is available to all Nigerians, regardless of their location.


Conclusively we can see that in October, the average price to purchase LPG is ₦ 12,446 and in September it was ₦ 11, 212. This shows a price increase of ₦ 1,234 between both months and a percentage increase is 11.01%.
