Federal Government Unveils 19 Accredited CNG Conversion Sites Across Nigeria

The Federal Government has recently published a list of accredited conversion sites for Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) across the country, marking a significant step towards promoting cleaner and more efficient fuel options for vehicles in Nigeria.

In a notable development last week, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, in collaboration with NIPCO, inaugurated 12 retail stations dedicated to dispensing CNG in both the Federal Capital Territory and Lagos. This initiative falls under the Presidential CNG Initiative, which aims to establish a network of 35 CNG stations nationwide. The strategic placement of these stations in Abuja and Lagos is designed to cater to a wide range of CNG vehicles, including tricycles, cars, buses, and heavy transport vehicles.

According to the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative, the list of approved conversion sites includes:

1. NIPCO GAS LTD locations in Ibadan, Benin City, Delta, Kogi, Akwa Ibom, and other regions.

2. SALMA AUTO in Abuja.

3. AXXELA LTD in Lagos.

4. RT BRISCOE NIGERIA PLC in Abuja.

5. TOTAL SUPPORT in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

6. MBH POWER LIMITED in Lagos State.

7. PORTLAND locations in Abuja and Lagos.

8. MEZOVEST in Lagos.

9. MECHO in Lagos.

10. AUTOCLINICNG SOLUTIONS LIMITED in Ibadan.

11. AUTOMATION AUTOGAS LTD in Ibadan.

12. AUTOGIG in Lagos.

13. NENIS ENGINEERING in Ikorodu, Lagos.

14. FG AUTOCLINIC in Ikeja, Lagos.

17. FIXIT 45 (AUTOHUB) in Abuja.

18. AUTOLUBRICITY in Asaba, Delta.

19. CNG TECH/ZITAJ AUTOMOBILE in Abuja.

These sites are integral to the government's vision of making CNG a widely accessible and affordable fuel option across Nigeria, thereby reducing reliance on traditional fuel sources and contributing to a cleaner environment. The comprehensive list of conversion sites ensures that vehicle owners can easily access CNG facilities, promoting the adoption of this cleaner energy source throughout the country.
