In a strong move supporting the federal government’s national gas expansion agenda, Rainoil Gas Limited, a key player in Nigeria’s downstream energy sector, has commissioned a brand-new Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) plant in Ore, Ondo State.
The commissioning ceremony, held along the Ore-Okitipupa Road, marked a major step forward in bringing clean, affordable energy closer to rural and semi-urban communities.
Mr. Emmanuel Omuojine, Managing Director of Rainoil Gas, emphasized that the strategic location of the new plant was carefully chosen to improve gas accessibility for residents of Ore and its surrounding towns.
“We chose Ore because we want to bring clean energy closer to the people,” Omuojine said.
“Our vision is to ensure that gas becomes the fuel of choice for households across Nigeria, and accessibility plays a key role in making that possible.”
Rainoil Gas’s Growing Impact
Since its establishment in 2020, Rainoil Gas has seen rapid growth, beginning with an 8,000-metric-tonne LPG storage facility in Lagos and operating a fleet of 42 trucks to support efficient distribution nationwide.
The company's commitment to expanding gas infrastructure across Nigeria directly supports the government’s clean energy goals — providing safer, more affordable alternatives to traditional cooking methods like firewood and kerosene.
Mr. Omuojine reiterated that the establishment of new LPG plants is critical to deepening gas penetration in Nigeria and empowering households with cleaner energy options.
Local Leadership Commends the Initiative
At the commissioning ceremony, the Chairman of Odigbo Local Government Area, Hon. Taiwo Adegoroye, lauded Rainoil Gas’s initiative as a forward-thinking project that would significantly improve living standards in the region.
“This is a thoughtful and impactful move by Rainoil Gas,” Adegoroye said.
“It will not only enhance the quality of life in Ore and nearby towns like Okitipupa, but it will also stimulate local economic activities and encourage safer cooking practices.”
Hon. Adegoroye also urged residents to embrace the use of LPG and abandon environmentally damaging practices like firewood gathering, which contribute to deforestation and pose serious health risks.
A Cleaner Future on the Horizon
Rainoil Gas’s new LPG plant in Ore is more than just a business expansion — it’s a step toward a healthier, safer, and more sustainable energy future for Nigeria.
By making LPG accessible to more households, Rainoil Gas is playing a vital role in promoting environmental sustainability, economic empowerment, and public health across Nigeria.
