LPG Prices resume Choppy trend

LPG prices resume Choppy trend, with no clear direction. LPG prices fell last week, after what we thought was a resumption of a bullish trend.

Propane averaged $364.0/MT, reflecting a 3.9% week-on-week decline from the previous $378.8/MT.

Butane settled at a weekly average of $392.7/MT, marking a 0.7% decline from the previous $395.6/MT.

The decline in prices is a reflection of several factors affecting the market, with no significant change in general market demand.

Crude Oil prices gained marginally week-on-week, but finished higher on Friday compared to the previous week. We saw EU sanctions imposed on Russia's Oil and Gas trade, and saw Drone attacks on Kurdish Oil production, damaging the production capacity. We may see the effect of these Geopolitical development in the coming weeks.

WTI closed the week at $68.27, up from $68.23, while Brent rose to $70.23 compared to $70.16 in the previous week

Nigeria LPG Market: Depot Prices continue to fall

LPG depot prices fell across depots nationwide. Off-takers at Dangote continued to take minimal profits, selling at 16.1 million per 20MT, which seemed to affect prices across depots. Prices dropped to as low as 16.5 million per 20MT at Ardova, Apapa. Cooking Gas ( LPG)  sold for between 16.7 million and 17 million in the South - South. Stockgap Depot was low in stock. We don't see prices changing course soon, except there is a drop in volumes from Dangote - the Landing cost of Offshore supplies doesn't justify the selling prices in Apapa.

Retail LPG Prices Remain Stable

Retail LPG prices remained relatively stable nationwide, with prices in Lagos hovering around N13,750 and N14,500 for a 12.5kg cylinder.
