Crude Oil – Tension eases and OPEC+ considers increased production (WTI: $62.88 | Brent: $67.60)
Crude oil prices recorded a further drop in prices as geopolitical tension eases in Iran and OPEC+ considers more supplies and a freeze on Oil supply quota.
Weekly Close:
WTI: $62.88 (down from $63.85)
Brent: $67.60 (down from $68.20)
Outlook:
Prices may normalize in the near term. A sub-$60 environment remains plausible if Middle East tensions ease further and additional supply enters the market from Venezuela and new U.S. production projects. The International Energy Agency (IEA) also projects sustained renewable energy growth, potentially accounting for up to 50% of the global energy mix by 2030; an outlook that may continue to weigh on long-term oil demand expectations.
Nigeria LPG Market – Dangote Refinery resumes supply of LPG.
Depot prices were largely unmoved, with an insignificant drop in prices nationwide. NAVGAS recorded 16m per 20MT, while Matrix depot, Warri, dropped to 16.35m from circa 16.5m last week.
The coming week is an interesting one to watch as Dangote Refinery bounces back into the market. We expect a drop in prices across the depots nationwide as more supplies enter the market.
Retail Cooking Gas – retail price drop seen nationwide.
Recent feedback from followers on WhatsApp suggests a further drop in retail prices across regions nationwide; prices ranged from N860.00 to 1050 per KG.
