LPG Prices are still range-bound
LPG prices remain range-bound, just dropping marginally, for both Propane and Butane, in continuation of the previous week's trend.
Propane averaged $359.4/MT, reflecting a 1.3% week-on-week decline from the previous $364.0/MT.
Butane settled at a weekly average of $383.5/MT, marking a 2.3% decline from the previous $392.7/MT.
Prices are likely to remain range-bound till the end of the summer.
Crude Oil prices drop
Crude Oil prices dropped against the previous week's close. There are several factors driving crude oil prices; the potential return of crude oil supply to the US from Venezuela, meaning more supplies in the market. Also important is the OPEC+ decision, which the market is waiting for. Others include global trade deals involving the US.
WTI closed the week at $65.52, down from $68.27, while Brent rose to $68.38 compared to $70.23 in the previous week
Nigeria LPG Market: Bearish trend persists
LPG depot prices continue to fall across depots nationwide. LPG Off-takers price at Dangote remains at 16.1 million per 20 MT. Prices dropped further in Lagos, with most depots selling at 16.4 million. It's not clear if depots that posted 17 million or above sold at those prices. In the South-South, prices were between 16.9 million and 16.6 million per 20 MT.
We expect a further drop in LPG depot prices as international prices continue to fall and the foreign exchange continues to change in favour of the Naira.
Retail LPG Prices Remain Stable
Retail LPG prices remained relatively stable nationwide, with prices in Lagos hovering around N13,750 and N14,500 for a 12.5kg cylinder.
