Global and regional energy leaders are set to gather in Lagos for the 6th West Africa LPG Expo 2025, a flagship event dedicated to driving the adoption of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) as a transformative solution for West Africa’s clean energy transition. Scheduled to take place from March 3 to 4, 2025, at the Balmoral Convention Center, Victoria Island, Lagos, this event promises to be the largest and most impactful in the series to date.
A Platform for Collaboration and Innovation
Building on the success of its previous editions, which attracted over 3,000 industry professionals and featured more than 80 top speakers, the 2025 Expo is set to surpass expectations. This year’s event will include:
1.West Africa’s Largest International LPG Exhibition: Showcasing cutting-edge innovations from over 100 local and international exhibitors, the exhibition aims to highlight advancements in LPG technology and infrastructure.
2.Influential Industry Conference Sessions: More than 50 expert speakers, including government officials, global investors, consultants, and leading LPG stakeholders, will share insights on policy, investment opportunities, and technical advancements.
3.Unparalleled Networking Opportunities: Energy professionals and clean energy advocates from across the region will connect to foster partnerships and collaborations.
A Showcase of Regional Leadership in Clean Energy Transition
The Expo underscores Nigeria’s leadership role in the global clean energy transition. As Africa’s second-largest LPG producer, Nigeria continues to integrate LPG into its energy framework under the Nigerian Energy Transition Plan, which targets net-zero emissions by 2060. Key achievements include:
Significant investments in LPG infrastructure to enhance local production and reduce imports.
Expanding LPG access to urban and rural areas to promote clean cooking and energy security.
Neighbouring countries, including Ghana, Senegal, and Ivory Coast, are also leveraging LPG to meet Africa’s 2030 clean cooking goals and reduce dependency on biomass fuels, showcasing a united front in addressing energy challenges across the region.
Spotlight on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)
Running alongside the LPG Expo is the 2nd CNG Africa, Nigeria 2025, which will focus on Nigeria’s Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (Pi-CNG). This ambitious program aims to grow the number of Natural Gas Vehicles (NGVs) to one million by 2026, emphasizing the economic and environmental benefits of compressed natural gas adoption. This dual approach—LPG for households and industries, and CNG for transportation—reflects Nigeria’s commitment to comprehensive energy solutions.
Global Support and Recognition
The Expo is supported by key organizations, including:
Nigeria Liquefied and Compressed Gas Association (NLCGA)
Nigerian Gas Association
World LPG Association (WLPGA), Paris
These partnerships highlight the importance of collaboration in achieving sustainable energy goals.
