LPG Prices – Propane prices rebound
Propane prices rebounded sharply to close up the Butane price difference, jumping by a huge 15.2% weekly average price increase against the previous week. In comparison, Butane prices had a moderate average weekly gain of 2.8%. Prices are expected to remain rangebound in correlation with crude oil prices, which have also remained low and rangebound.
Propane: averaged $352.7/MT, up 15.2% from last week’s $306.3/MT.
Butane: averaged $397.9/MT, up 2.8% from last week’s $387.1/MT.
Crude Oil – Still range-bound from Geopolitical developments.
(WTI: $60.29 | Brent: $63.94)
Crude oil prices remain rangebound as geopolitical developments influence price directions; Venezuela tensions with the US, which should drive prices up, the price cuts from the Saudis, and the discounted Iranian crude, which has kept prices down. The market seems to be in surplus or low demand, which may keep prices at the current levels through the winter.
Weekly Close:
WTI: $60.29 (up from $59.12)
Brent: $63.94 (up from $63.26)
Outlook: A sub-$60 per barrel environment remains a strong possibility, considering prevailing market signals and geopolitical uncertainties.
Nigeria LPG Market – Depot Prices rebound over under-supply in the market
Nigeria’s LPG prices rebounded in response to delayed loading from Dangote and low stock in Apapa. Prices sold at circa 18m in Apapa, while prices went as high as 19.9m in Port Harcourt when LPG cargoes arrived at Stockgap. Although cargoes are expected in Apapa this week, we do not expect prices to drop lower than 18m as we enter the thick of the festivities.
Retail Cooking Gas – Prices Stable Nationwide
Retail prices remained largely unchanged, although we recorded 1200 per kg in Lekki, a drop from 1300 per KG.
However, prices are expected to rise as festivities get thicker.
