LPG Prices – Cautiously Bullish
For the second consecutive week, LPG prices recorded marginal gains.
Propane: averaged $359.2/MT, up 1.6% from last week’s $354.0/MT.
Butane: averaged $409.8/MT, up 2.2% from last week’s $400.3/MT.
Crude Oil – Largely Flat
Crude oil prices were little changed, weighed down by a US crude inventory build. The recent US interest rate cut had minimal impact on the market.
WTI: $63.21 (down from $63.27)
Brent: $67.06 (down from $67.42)
Outlook: The dominant trend remains bearish, with prices struggling to break higher levels.
Nigeria LPG Market – Stable Despite Dangote Outage
Depot prices held steady despite a stock-out at Dangote’s LPG facility. Prices averaged ₦16.7 million per 20MT, with some depots quoting slightly higher.
In the South-South, queues persisted as an NLNG cargo (12,000MT) berthed at Stockgap depot for discharge. If Dangote’s outage continues this week, scarcity pressures could trigger upward price adjustments.
Retail LPG – August Prices Decline
Retail cooking gas prices dropped by 5% in August compared to July, reflecting easing depot costs.
