LPG Price Trend remains bullish
LPG maintained its bullish momentum for the third consecutive week.
Propane averaged $354.0/MT, up 0.9% from last week’s $350.8/MT.
Butane averaged $399.4/MT, up 4.7% from last week’s $381.3/MT.
The significant increase in Butane prices , suggests prices may have taken a consolidated trend.
Crude Oil prices slow ahead of OPEC+ decision
Crude oil prices softened last week as markets awaited the OPEC+ meeting of September 7th on the phased unwinding of production cuts. The group is set to add 137,000 bpd in October, lower than the August–September increments, in an effort to avoid oversupply.
WTI closed at $61.64, down from $64.11.
Brent edged higher to $65.25, down from $68.14 the prior week.
Nigeria LPG Market: Nigeria LPG Market: Depot prices rebound on Dangote supply cut.
Depot prices surged following Dangote Refinery’s supply reduction. LPG prices hit 17 Million per 20MT in Apapa - highest in more than 2 weeks. Market reports suggest a catalyst leak at the Residue Fluid Catalytic Cracking (RFCC) unit reduced output at Dangote Refinery, tightening supply. Prices hit 16.9 Million at Stockgap Depot, Port Harcourt.
Retail LPG: Relatively stable prices.
Retail prices remained relatively stable but continued to reflect weaker depot costs:
Reports show prices as low as 900/kg (11,250 for a 12.5kg cylinder) across parts of the South-West but slightly higher prices were recorded across other regions nationwide.
