LPG Price Trends
LPG prices continued on a modest upward path, though without major movements.
Propane averaged $350.8/MT, up 1.4% from last week’s $346.1/MT.
Butane averaged $381.3/MT, up 1.3% from last week’s $376.3/MT.
As we approach the end of summer, keep a close watch—heating demand is expected to shape price direction in the weeks ahead.
Crude Oil: Slow and Steady
Crude oil prices inched upward in another relatively quiet week:
WTI closed at $64.11, up from $63.52.
Brent edged higher to $68.14, from $67.52 the prior week.
Key drivers remain geopolitical developments—particularly the Russia-Ukraine negotiations—and the upcoming OPEC+ meeting on September 7th, where decisions on supply levels will likely set the tone for September.
Nigeria LPG Market: Depot Prices Ease
Depot prices softened following Dangote Refinery’s return to LPG operations, with off-taker prices around 14.8m per 20MT. Apapa depots sold as low as 16.1m per 20MT. South-South depots dropped below 16m per 20MT.
Retail LPG: Stable but Lower
Retail prices continued to ease in response to falling depot costs:
Reports show prices as low as 900/kg (11,250 for a 12.5kg cylinder) across parts of the South-West but slightly higher prices were recorded across other regions nationwide.
